Blue Book Restaurants Win Ultimate Titles at the FOOD&WINE Magazine Restaurant of the Year Awards 2017

Ireland’s Blue Book is delighted to announce wins for Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud, Chapter One Restaurant, The Lady Helen Restaurant at Mount Juliet Estate, Gregans Castle Hotel, l’Ecrivain and Blairscove House at the FOOD&WINE Magazine Restaurant of the Year Awards 2017 which took place in Dublin on the 27th of August.

Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud – one of Ireland’s most well established fine-dining restaurants – was named FOOD&WINE Magazine’s Restaurant of the Year for the second year running, firmly cementing the award-winning Michelin star restaurant’s position at the forefront of the culinary scene.

Ross Lewis, chef patron and proprietor of Chapter One Restaurant was crowned Chef of the Year, with pastry chef Darren Hogarty taking home the title of Pastry Chef of the Year.

The Lady Helen Restaurant at Mount Juliet Estate, Co. Kilkenny was titled Destination of the Year and l’Ecrivain Restaurant, in the heart of Dublin’s city centre, was titled the Best for Business.

Blairscove House, at the head of Dunmanus Bay, Co. Cork achieved recognition with the Restaurant with Rooms Award and Gregans Castle Hotel, overlooking the Burren landscape Co. Clare was won the reader’s choice award for Best for Romance.

Now in its 17th year, The FOOD&WINE Magazine Restaurant of the Year Awards in association with Nespresso Business Solutions, are considered the most prestigious and authoritative culinary awards in the Irish calendar.  “The thriving restaurant scene in Ireland continues to impress our judging panel – the standard of excellence across the country, among both well established and young restaurants, made the judging process a tough one, and all of those shortlisted should be congratulated," commented Miriam Atkins, editor of FOOD&WINE Magazine.

Recognising the best Irish restaurants and culinary talent, diners from all over Ireland were invited to nominate their favourite restaurants and chefs, with the top entries going forward for deliberation by a national culinary panel of judges, made up of industry experts and national food critics.
