Kilkenny, Tuesday 27th September 2016; Irelands Blue Book is delighted to announce wins for Mount Juliet Estate, Hayfield Manor, Castle Leslie Estate and Gregans Castle at the Hotel and Catering Gold Medal Awards 2016 which took place in Kilkenny on the 27th of September.
Mount Juliet Estate scooped not one, but three Gold Medal Awards on the night. Not only were they this year’s Supreme Winner, they also took home the awards for Ireland’s Four Star Hotel and Ireland's Fine Dining Experience
David Hurley, Head Chef at Gregans Castle, Co. Clare took home the accolade for Ireland's Chef of the Year, while and Castle Leslie Estate, Co. Monaghan and Hayfield Manor, Co. Cork took the awards for Best Breakfast in Ireland and Best Wine Experience respectively.
Running for 28 years, the Gold Medal Awards are intensely competitive, drawing entries from hundreds of hotels, restaurants, guesthouses, spas and catering businesses every year. Each entrant is rigorously assessed by members of the Gold Medal Awards judging panel who travelled the length and breadth of the island of Ireland over the course of the summer to search for Ireland’s greatest purveyors of hospitality.
