Hot Press Magazine Lists Blue Book Houses in its Best of Ireland Hotels 2017

30/03/2017

March 2017: Ireland’s Blue Book is delighted to announce that Marlfield House, Ghan House, Dunbrody House, The Park Hotel Kenmare and The Merrion Hotel have been listed in Hot Press Magazine’s Best of Ireland Hotels 2017.

Marlfield House, Co. Wexford and Ghan House, Co. Louth are listed as the Best Hotels for Old World Charm. Marlfield, a celebrated stately home with Turner-style conservatory, can only be described as ‘a history buff’s dream’; while Ghan House is ‘a real Georgian Gem and one of the oldest private houses of its kind in Ireland.’

Dunbrody House, Co. Wexford and the five-star Park Hotel Kenmare, Co. Kerry are among the Best Hotels for Relaxation. Dunbrody offers a combination of ‘fine food, stunning style and serene spa facilities', while the Park Hotel is well-known for its retreats in its SÁMAS spa; a 'well-known centre for peace and tranquillity.'

Best for Glamour goes to the five-star Merrion Hotel. ‘The epitome of understated elegance, Dublin’s Merrion Hotel combines a bustling city-centre location with all the relaxation of a striking country getaway’.

The Best of Ireland issue celebrates people and places since its debut edition in 2013. The time is right to get exploring everything Ireland has to offer in the way of fun, food and entertainment – from Dublin to Connemara and from West Cork to the furthest reaches of Co. Derry. Best of Ireland is also a comprehensive lifestyle guide; contributors include Roz Purcell, Kevin Barry, Eoghan McDermott, Elaine Crowley, Neil Prendeville and JP McMahon, who share their recommendations for entertainment, food, sport, fashion, tours and fun.
