Chapter One Crowned Best Restaurant in Ireland

May 2017: Ireland’s Blue Book is delighted to announce wins for Chapter One Restaurant, Gregans Castle Hotel, Viewmount House and Belleek Castle at the Irish Restaurant Awards, held in Dublin on Monday May 8th, 2017.

These awards are brought to you by The Restaurants Association of Ireland, and are the largest and most coveted awards in the Irish Restaurant Industry. Over 900 restaurateurs and staff arrived from all over the country to attended the black-tie event which celebrated the hard work and achievements within the industry over the last 12 months.

Guests were treated to a lavish six course gala dinner prepared by a team of five chefs. The Awards Chef Team is hand-picked by the Restaurants Association each year and this year included Gary O’Hanlon of Viewmount House.

Chapter One Restaurant was crowned Best Restaurant in Ireland, shortly after achieving the title of Rest Restaurant in Dublin and Best Customer Service in Dublin. Gregans Castle Hotel was awarded Best Hotel Restaurant in Munster followed by the supreme – Best Hotel Restaurant in Ireland.

The awards continued for Ireland’s Blue Book as the evening progressed. Gary O’Hanlon of Viewmount House took a quick break from his kitchen duties to accept his award for Best Chef in Leinster and Blue Book newcomer Belleek Castle was recognised as having the Best Customer Service in Connaught.

Speaking at the awards, Chief Executive of the Restaurants Association of Ireland Adrian Cummins commented, “It is clear that the stature, calibre and reputation of the awards is expanding at a considerable rate and it is all in aid of recognising the talent within our sectorAll winners and finalists here tonight are very deserving of their awards.
