Shannon Princess featured on Neven Maguire’s Irish Food Trails.

January 2017: Ireland’s Blue Book is delighted to announce that the Shannon Princess Hotel Barge is currently featuring on Neven Maguire’s ‘Irish Food Trails’ for a seven-part series on RTÉ One.

 

Based in Lough Ree, the Shannon Princess is a luxury boutique hotel barge cruising the River Shannon, where guests have all the comforts of a private boutique floating hotel. Renowned celebrity chef, Neven Maguire will make this Barge his home over the course of the series, where he shares and demonstrates his own recipes.

 

While travelling along the River Shannon, Neven meets with a fascinating and diverse collection of chefs, craftsmen and food producers, several of which come from Blue Book houses including Blairscove House, No.1 Pery Square, The Mustard Seed, Hayfield Manor, Campagne Restaurant, and Viewmount House.

 

Neven’s Irish Food Trails airs weekly on RTÉ One Wednesdays at 7.30pm, for a seven-part series commencing January 18th 2017.

About Neven Maguire

Neven Maguire is one of Ireland’s best loved chefs. The restaurateur and media personality is well known for his award-winning MacNean House & Restaurant. Neven began cooking at 12 years of age alongside his mother, Vera, in the kitchen of the MacNean House and Restaurant.  Having been trained and then tutored in professional cooking, Neven went on to work at some of the world’s top restaurants including Arzac, San Sebastian, Spain (3 Michelin Stars) and Restaurant Léa Linster, Luxembourg (2 Michelin Stars). He took over as Head Chef/Owner of MacNean House & Restaurant in 2001, in the small rural village of Blacklion, creating one of the country’s most popular dining destinations. Neven has published several cookbooks, and ‘Irish Food Trails’ marks his 1'0th Television series.
