County Fermanagh

IRELAND'S BLUE BOOKCOUNTRY HOUSES, HISTORIC HOTELS AND RESTAURANTS

The most remarkable natural feature of Country Fermanagh is the River Erne, which winds through the centre of the county. It expands into two extensive lakes, Upper and Lower Lough Erne, both of which have many islands. The limestone hills of west Fermanagh contain many interesting cave systems. This is a county with many attractions such as boating, bird watching and fishing.

Belle Isle Castle

Belle Isle Castle

Cradled in mature gardens and green fields in the village of Magheralin this Georgian Country House, built in 1785, has been in the family for six generations. Extensive, yet sensitive, restoration works were undertaken over two-years before John and Louise Mathers opened the family home to guests in 2005. Newforge boasts light and airy reception rooms and six individually designed bedrooms.
