Lough Corrib is one of the premier Wild Brown Trout lakes in Europe and Currarevagh have the privilege to have this amenity on their doorstep. Lough Corrib also contains pike and perch and gets a small run of salmon in late May and during June and July. Trout fishing season begins on 15th February and continues until 30th September. Whilst there is no "bag" limit, all trout under 30.5cms must be returned unharmed to the water. Fishing is generally with wetfly, dryfly , dapping or trolling and usually from a drifting boat. Fishing is free, neither licences or permits are required.

Currarevagh recommend the services of a Ghillie who with his own boat and outboard motor together with a limited supply of necessary tackle, has a knowledge of the lake which is 28 miles long by 6 miles wide, is familiar with the conditions for fishing and can give advice on flies, baits etc. Currarevagh has its own boats for rent with our without outboard engines available to qualified guests. In addition to fishing the Corrib, Currarevagh owns the sporting rights over 5000 acres and Sea Trout fishing can normally be arranged on most of the other Connemara fisheries with advance notice.
