November 30^th 2012: The 2012 Edition of Ireland’s Blue Book was launched in the National Concert Hall on Wednesday 30^th November by Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport Leo Varadkar.

The 2012 Blue Book collection will include 42 historic hotels, country houses and restaurants. New to the collection in 2012 are Ballyfin Demesne in Co. Laois and Castle Leslie in Co. Monaghan. Ballyportry Castle in Co. Clare and Montalto Estate in Co. Down will join the new Blue Book Private Rentals Collection.

Founded in 1974 Ireland’s Blue Book is the premier collection of luxury accommodation in Irish country house hotels, manor houses and castles, as well as including Ireland's finest restaurants. No two properties are the same, each offering an enchanting and unique atmosphere.

Vice-President of Ireland’s Blue Book John Brennan said, “We are delighted to welcome such beautiful and interesting additions to the collection. This year we are joined by very unique historical properties from the 15^th, 16th, 18th and 19^th centuries of Irish history. These houses and castles are all independently owned and reflect a diversity of style and character. They will offer visitors from home and overseas a truly magical experience.”
