October 2011:The Bord Bia "Just Ask" restaurant of the month for October is Tankardstown House, Slane, Co.Meath. Á la Carte Restaurant Brabazon, and The Bistro, both located in the Garden Village at Tankardstown, have been recognised by Bord Bia for their commitment to using locally sourced ingredients.
“The walled kitchen garden provides the influence for the menus which can change by the minute” said Head Chef Richard Luckey,” depending on what the forager discovers, or what the kitchen gardener deems to be in tip top condition”. What cannot be grown is sourced from a lengthy list of local suppliers and owner Trish Conroy stated “we are delighted that our commitment to sourcing our ingredients locally has been recognised”
About Tankardstown: A very special place, Tankardstown House and Courtyard Cottages is a proud member of Ireland's Blue Book and has been voted "One of the top houses to rent in the British Isles" the only one included in Ireland in the Conde Nast Annual Awards. It is located only 40 minutes north of Dublin Airport outside of the village of Slane, Co. Meath. The Main House has 6 individual Heritage rooms, drawing room, sitting room, library and cosy bar.
