Seiko Tsukamoto to give May Recital in Barberstown Castle

Ireland's Blue Book is delighted to announce that Barberstown Castle will host a recital to be given by Seiko Tsukamoto on Sunday May 9th.

Prize-Winning Japanese concert pianist, Seiko Tsukamoto, completed her musical education at the National Conservatory in Paris with Jacques Rouvier and at the State Academy of Music Hanover with Arie Vardi, after winning First Prize at the Junior Music Competition in her native country at the age of 14.

She has been successful in several piano competitions:  First prize at the Hamamatsu International Piano Academy Compettion in 1996, Second Prize at the Vladimir Horowitz International Competition in Kiev in 1999 and in 2001, Third prize at the Geneva International Music Competition.  In addition, she was a prizewinner at the Dublin International Competition and a finalist at the Queen Elizabeth International Competition. 

Seiko Tsukamoto actively performs in Japan, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland, Hungary, Ukraine, Israel and the USA.  Festival invitations have included solo concerts in the Braunschweiger Kammermusik Podium, Pianoforte Fest Meissen in Germany and the Guibbio Festival in Italy.  As a soloist, she has performed with several orchestras such as the Israel Camerata Jerusalem, the Israel Chamber Orchestra and the Menuhin Festival Orchestra, under the baton of Sir Yehudi MEnuhin.

Further engagements include recitals, chamber music and concerto appearances in Japan and Europe.
