Dublin 23 June 2009: Enniscoe House in County Mayo is delighted to announce the opening of a new looped walk within the grounds of their estate. The official opening took place on Monday June 22nd and was performed by Eamon O'Cuiv, Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
The looped walk which is 2.5kms long wanders through the woods and grounds of the Enniscoe Estate. The route takes in wonderful views of Lough Conn and is ideally suited for those who enjoy a stroll in pleasant surroundings. The more active can of course increase their pace and turn a stroll into a run. The looped walk is open to the public free of charge for their enjoyment at all times.
Whatever pace you choose, post walk, tea and scones on the terrace garden of the Heritage Centre Tea Rooms come highly recommended for all. The Enniscoe ornamental garden in its present layout dates back to the late 19th century and provides a wonderful setting in which to relax.
Access to the gardens, pleasure grounds and walks is available to Enniscoe guests at any time without charge. There is a separate car park and entrance for the public through the Mayo North Heritage Centre, which is situated behind Enniscoe House and courtyards. Admission to Gardens and Heritage Centre: Adults €10.00, Children €3.00
