Howth's King Sitric Winner of Bord Bia's Just Ask 'Recommend a Restaurant' for June July 2009

King Sitric has won Bord Bia's Just Ask 'Recommend a Restaurant' for June. The restaurant was recommended by Sandra Gough from Lucan who recognised the dedication shown by Aidan MacManus, Head Chef at the King Sitric, to sourcing his ingredients locally.

The Just Ask campaign has been established to support both large and small artisan suppliers, encouraging both Irish diners and visitors from abroad to support restaurants that are in turn supporting local suppliers. Restaurants that provide information on the origin of their meats, name their suppliers or show that they source from artisan suppliers approved under the Bord Bia Quality Assurance Schemes can all be recommended for this commendation.

Aidan MacManus was delighted to receive this commendation and said, "We're truly delighted to be recognised for the food we serve and the produce we use. It is very important to us to know that the ingredients we put in our dishes have not travelled far ensuring that they are as fresh as they can possibly. Its also great to be able to support our local fishermen and producers."

To recommend a restaurant that fulfils this criteria please log on to www.bordbia.ie/justask and fill out the relevant forms. Each month two lucky winners will receive a €100 voucher for the restaurant they have recommended.
