Marlfield House Sunday Lunchtime Recitals Spring 2011 

Marlfield House is delighted to present two Sunday Lunch Recitals for this Spring Season. Performances will take place in the intimacy of the house in the Print Room, preceded by a delicious four course lunch in the Conservatory Dining Room. Come and enjoy what has become a very popular way to spend a Sunday afternoon in the beautiful surroundings of Marlfield and its gardens.

Lunch will be served from 12.30 followed by the recital at 3.30pm. Tickets are €65 per person for lunch and recital. Recital only tickets are €25 including a glass of wine orprosecco on arrival
Very special bed and breakfast rates from €70 per person are available for Sunday night and from €80 for Saturday night.

Sunday Lunch Time Recital March 20th –Marcella Walsh & Patrick Hyland

Marcella Walsh Soprano studies with Dr Veronica Dunne.  Marcella is currently a member of the Opera Theatre Company Young Associate Artists’ Programme. Described by the Irish times as having “a captivating presence,” her accolades include Queen’s University Belfast ‘Student of the Year 2008’ and the BBC Young Musician’s Platform Award’ 2011-2013.Marcella has performed in Italy, Germany, New York and extensively in Ireland.  She has graced the operatic stage many times including Wexford Opera Festival and performed for President Mary Mc Aleese in Áras an Uachtaráin in 2010.

Tenor Patrick Hyland studied with Dr Veronica Dunne, and is currently with the Royal Irish Academy of Music. In the summer of 2010 he was invited by the Lord Mayor to the Mansion House in Dublin where he was awarded a bursary by the Count John McCormack Society. Most recently he performed with Opera Ireland’s production of Verdi’s “Macbeth” in the Gaiety and with Lyric Opera’s production of “Carmen” in the National Concert Hall.

 

Easter Sunday Lunch Time Recital April 24th – Gabriela Istock

Marlfield House is delighted to welcome back Romanian Soprano Gabriela Iştoc who gave a wonderful performance in Marlfield last year gaining many new fans.

Gabriela is a pupil with Dr. Veronica Dunne. A member of the Opera Theatre Company Young Associate Artists’ Programme, she is a laureate of numerous vocal compositions. She has won more than 10 national prizes in Romania, the scholarship for the youngest singer in the Iris Adami Corradetti Competition, the Irene Sandford Award & the Geoghegan and Gervase Cups in the Feis Ceoil (Ireland).

 

This March she joins Glyndebourne Opera Festival for a covering role in Rusalka, the first nymph.

 

Her piano accompanist will be Elizagabriela Puchiani
