July, 2010: Ireland's Blue Book is delighted to announce that following the success of the unique culinary offering, the ‘World Cup Slider’, which was served throughout all the action taking place in South Africa; the award winning Cellar Bar at the stylish five star Merrion hotel, has returned with an innovative method of serving its favourite traditional Irish dishes.
Each Thursday from July 15th, visit the Cellar Bar for a ‘Merrion Stacker’ and a session with Dublin’s finest traditional musicians including TG4 Gradam Ceoil winners Sean McKeon and Conor McEvoy, Paudie O Connor, Gay McKeon, John McEvoy and Paul Doyle (Providence).
Executive Head Chef, Ed Cooney, created ‘The Merrion Stacker’ using only the finest ingredients; taking a traditional three-course menu and adding a twist by ‘stacking’ each delectable dish one on top of the other. For only €14.95 guests can enjoy each unique layer which includes a mini helping of a prawn cocktail starter, The Merrion hotel’s renowned bacon and cabbage, as well as a Buttermilk Panacota with Rhubarb Compote and a Raspberry Sorbet for desert.
Accompanied by a mini-loaf of the finest Irish brown bread and complemented by a glass of Guinness, this exclusive dining experience and celebration of everything Irish is the perfect way to spend a summer evening.
