Dublin May 13, 2010: Ireland's Blue Book is delighted to announce that The Garden Terrace is now open in The Merrion Hotel until the end of August, weather permitting! The Garden Terrace at Dublin’s five star Merrion hotel is the perfect place to experience some summer sunshine while sampling the hotel’s delectable menu and unparalleled service. This elegant dining experience is available now until the end of August and will no doubt be a hot spot for the summer months.
Guests can choose from mouth-watering menu which includes McConnells oak smoked salmon served with soda bread and green salad, The Merrion’s classic club Sandwich or the Merrion prawn cocktail with cherry tomatoes, marie rose sauce and dill crisp bread.
For those who wish to satisfy their sweet tooth, guests can enjoy delicious desserts including The Merrion’s trio of berries (blackberry ice-cream, raspberry champagne jelly and redcurrant crème brûlée), classic Wexford strawberries and chantilly cream or The Merrion sundae with mango, vanilla and strawberry ice-cream.
Experience the latest - and most cerebral - take on traditional afternoon tea with The Merrion’s new Art Tea, a witty interpretation of its world-class collection of contemporary Irish art. The Merrion’s team of pastry chefs, headed up by Irish Olympic Culinary team member, Paul Kelly, have created a collection of pastries, each one inspired by a work of art, as the centrepiece of the new Art Tea, which is also available to enjoy on The Garden Terrace.
To complete their elegant summer terrace dining experience, guests can treat themselves to a cocktail from the bespoke Martini menu, which offers 16 delicious signature drinks that use only the most refined spirits including Ketel One vodka, Ciroc vodka, Tanqueray & Tanqueray No.10 gin and Bushmills whiskey, mixed to perfection with an imaginative twist!
