January 2018: Ireland’s Blue Book is delighted to announce wins for Glenlo Abbey, The Wineport Lodge and Mount Juliet Estate at the 2018 Golfers Guide to Ireland Awards which took place on Monday January 15th in Dublin
Guest of honour Mary Mitchel O’Connor TD Minister of State for Higher Education presented the awards which recognise leadership roles played by leading Irish Golf Clubs and hotels specialising in golf holiday breaks. The function was attended by over 100 golf club and golf sector interests from all over the country.
The Wineport Lodge, Westmeath was recognised as Best Boutique Golf Hotel in Leinster, while The Pullman Restaurant at Glenlo Abbey Hotel, Galway was celebrated as the Best Golfing Restaurant in Connaught. Mount Juliet Estate was awarded the prestigious title of Best Links Golf Course in Leinster.
Each of the winners received a specially commissioned certificate in recognition of their achievement. All awards were won on the basis of an all-Ireland poll undertaken from within the golf and golf related community. Speaking on the awards, Paddy McCarthy, Director of Golfers Guide to Ireland said the successes achieved by the current crop of Irish professional superstars continues to headline the Ireland golf brand where ever golf is played.
