May 2018: Ireland’s Blue Book is delighted to announce wins for Park Hotel Kenmare, The Mustard Seed, and Newforge House at the 2018 Irish Restaurant Awards, held in Dublin on Monday May 14th
More than 1,000 restaurateurs, chefs, front of house staff and industry figures attended the black-tie event in Dublin on Monday night which celebrated the achievements and perseverance within the industry over the last 12 months.
Park Hotel Kenmare, Co Kerry was awarded Best Hotel Restaurant in Munster followed by the supreme – Best Hotel Restaurant in Ireland.
Newforge House, Co Armagh received the title of Best Hotel Restaurant in Ulster, while the team at the Mustard Seed, Co. Limerick were recognised with the Best Customer Service Munster.
Liam Edwards, president of the RAI, said: “As an industry, the restaurateurs, pub-owners and entrepreneurs of Ireland continue to defy the odds. You strive to create jobs, expand upon Ireland’s understanding of food standards and world cuisine, all while maintaining exemplary customer service. Your support of Irish produce has never been greater and for this you should be wholeheartedly applauded.”
The 2018 Irish Restaurant Awards are brought to you by The Restaurants Association of Ireland and are the largest and most coveted awards in the Irish Restaurant Industry.
In this, the 10th year of the Irish Restaurant Awards, more than 90,000 online nominations were received for Irish restaurants and other hospitality businesses. The public vote was followed by judging panel assessment at regional level, and at national level there were mystery guest inspections and votes from the RAI’s National Judging Academy, made up of industry experts, food writers, culinary academics and critics.
