Wins for Blue Book Houses & Restaurants at the Yes Chef Awards 2018

October 2018: Ireland’s Blue Book is delighted to announce wins for Tankardstown House, Hayfield Manor, Castle Leslie and L’Ecrivain Restaurant at the Yes Chef Awards which took place in Sligo on the 9th of October 2018.

Now in its sixth year, The YesChef Awards celebrate the craft that is Irish Food, and over 500 hospitality professionals travelled from all over Ireland to recognise and honour chefs, hoteliers, restaurateurs and front of house teams. “A recurring theme in this year’s awards has been the collaboration between Front of House and the Kitchen and how this delicately balanced partnership is vital to the success of every venue.” Shane Smith, managing director of YesChef Magazine on the awards.

It was a triple win for the Brabazon Restaurant at Tankardstown House, Co Meath, winning Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year Leinster,  Best Hotel Restaurant Leinster, and the supreme, Hotel Restaurant of the Year.

Best Front of House Team Munster was awarded to the five-star Hayfield Manor, Cork, while The Fine Dining Restaurant Awards for Connaught and Ulster went to The Library Restaurant at Belleek Castle, Co Mayo, and Snaffles Restaurant at Castle Leslie Estate, Co Monaghan respectively.

The Judges Award 2019 went to Sallyanne & Derry Clarke of L’Ecrivain Restaurant, Dublin. This special award is given by the judges to recognise commitment and dedication to the industry. This award is not limited to chefs, but rather all those involved in developing and championing Irish Food.

Shane Smith said “The programme has gone from strength to strength and will continue to grow. The concept is simple, to showcase the talent within the culinary world across the island.”
