While not typically considered as a food destination, Ireland has undergone something of a food revolution in recent years, embracing home-grown. local produce and our own food heritage. Restaurants are celebrating Irish ingredients, with menus featuring wonderful fresh seafood and shellfish, game meat, fresh and organic seasonal vegetables and Irish dairy.
We are lucky in Ireland to have a climate which allows the growth and cultivation of wonderful fruit, vegetables and herbs; miles and miles of coastline where fresh seafood and shellfish can be caught and gathered; and ample rainfall which allows grazing land for livestock and wild game.
