  • Richie Scott Sculpture Exhibition

    Ballymaloe House, Co. Cork will host Richie Scott's Sculpture Exhibition this summer 2017, launching on Midsummers Eve.

    There will be fifty pieces from some of the finest of Irish sculptors. The exhibition shall run throughout the Summer up to and including the first weekend in September which see Ballymaloe House host their annual Garden Festival. There shall be a guided walk-through the exhibition every Tuesday and Thursday night at 6pm. The tour of the works generally takes about and hour to complete, it is free of charge and no booking is required. We would love to see you there at some time this Summer.

  • Seafood Foraging with Belleek Castle

    In conjunction with Food Fleadh Ballina, Denis Quinn of Wild Atlantic Cultural Tours will be hosting a very special seafood foraging trip in association with Belleek Castle on Friday 25th August.

    Meet at Belleek Castle at 1.30pm Friday afternoon and depart for the Moy Estury shoreline.
    Enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Killala Bay with a guided walk and forage. Denis will take you to the isolated Bartra Island, walking through the crystal clear streams, keeping an eye out for sleeping seals or noisy herons.

    Forage for cockles, mussels and samphire while learning about the local environment, history and archaeology from certified Failte Ireland approved local marine and countryside guide Denis Quinn, who also has a BA (Hons) in Heritage Studies.

    Return to Belleek Castle with your bag of goodies at 4.30pm approx. Award winning Chef Stephen Lenahan, Executive Chef of Belleek Castle will be cooking up a storm of your foraged delights, enjoy an afternoon of seafood cooking in the recently renovated Castle courtyard 'Jack Feen's' Courtyard.

    On Saturday 2nd / Sunday 3rd September the Ballymaloe Garden Festival will take place at Ballymaloe House and is a weekend for garden lovers, seasoned experts, late bloomers and foodies alike. 

    The Ballymaloe Garden Festival on the grounds at Ballymaloe House welcomes experts for an extensive programme of classes in everything from growing a wildlife friendly garden, what to grow to attract bees and butterflies, growing organic fruit and veg, designing your garden from scratch.

    All scheduled talks will take place in the Carrigaun room at the back of The Ballymaloe Grainstore this year and Fringe Events and Stalls will be in the Ballymaloe Walled Garden, Ballymaloe Grainstore, Drinks Theatre and Big Shed. There will be live music and lots of garden shopping and family fun.

    As part of the newly branded Midleton Food & Drink Festival - FEAST East Cork Food & Drink Festival (3-10 September 2017), Ballymaloe House are delighted to be one of the restaurants involved by hosting this Seasonal Feast Supper.

    The evening will begin at 7pm with a Cocktail reception in the Walled Garden, cocktail created by Andy Ferreira (2017's World Class Irish Mixologist of the Year 2017 and soon to be representing Ireland in the World Class Global Final in Mexico). 

    Dinner will be served at 8pm in the Long Dining Room in the house and the 3 course 'Seasonal Supper' menu will be written and prepared by Rory O'Connell, Ballymaloe Cookery School co-founder and teacher, author, TV personality and former Head Chef at Ballymaloe House.

    Lose yourself in beautiful Liss Ard Estate, explore the grounds and learn the history of this ‘jewel in West Cork’s crown’ during a guided walk with resident Horticulturalist Sally Ann Lenehan.

    Sally will reveal secrets of the estate grounds and house starting in ‘Sallys Garden’ where the wonderful produce used in the restaurant is grown, on through the wild flower meadow to the ‘Celtic meeting place’ and end the walk in the tranquillity of the famous Sky Garden.

    Along the path take a pause and listen to the birdsong while enjoying delicious canapes prepared by Liss Ard Head Chef Danny Barter and be refreshed with Sally’s delicious nettle or rosehip cordial. Returning from the Sky Garden enjoy a specially prepared Liss Ard Taste of West Cork sharing platter for two, featuring the best of West Cork produce, served in the Galleryoverlooking the lawns of this beautiful manor house.

    Longueville's annual Long Table Dinner will be hosted this year starting at 7pm when attendees meet for a pre dinner Mulled Longueville House Cider apperitif in our Drawing Room.Driver cocktails will also be available.
    Later, in the Presidents' Room, Chef/Patron William will serve up game offerings such as local wild woodcock, mallard and venison.
    Guests dine together "Long table" style and are treated to a five-course Tasting Menu complimented with tastings of Longueville House cider, specially chosen wines, and rounded off with a tipple of Longueville House Apple Brandy made in the Calvados style.
