Marlfield House is a beautifully restored Regency period house set on 36 acres of fine gardens and woodland and close to miles of golden beaches. The Bowe family opened it's doors to guests over 30 years ago and it has continued as a highly acclaimed country house and restaurant ever since. Rooms are filled with beautiful antiques, paintings and vases of flowers from the garden. All overlook the gardens and grounds, have marble bathrooms and the six grand state rooms open on to the lake and wildfowl reserve. The extensive gardens include a croquet lawn, tennis court, woodland walks, a lake and a rose, vegetable and herb garden which provides much of the produce for the kitchen. Marlfield's conservatory restaurant with frescoed walls is highly acclaimed as one of Ireland's most charming dining rooms serving classical food using home grown and local produce.
Marlfield is located one hour south of Dublin on the N11 outside Gorey on the Courtown Road R742. It is the perfect loaction from which to tour the beautiful medieval city of Kilkenny and its environs, County Wicklow "The Garden of Ireland", and the monastic settlement at Glendalough. It is surrounded by many well known golf courses including Druids Glen, (Irish Open), The European, Woodenbridge, Seafield and Courtown.
Marlfield has gained many awards including the Good Hotel Guide Cesar Award, The Relais et Chateaux Best Breakfast Award, it was listed in Andrew Harper's Hideaway Report "Best 25 Hotels in the World", Johansen's Country Hotel of the Year, and the AA Courtesy and Care Award 2010.
