What is a cookie?

Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your personal computer, mobile or other device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognises that cookie. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise a user's device.

Persistent cookies - these cookies remain on a user's device for the period of time specified in the cookie. They are activated each time that the user visits the website that created that particular cookie.

Session cookies - these cookies allow website operators to link the actions of a user during a browser session. A browser session starts when a user opens the browser window and finishes when they close the browser window. Session cookies are created temporarily. Once you close the browser, all session cookies are deleted.

Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improve the user experience. They can also help to ensure that adverts you see online are more relevant to you and your interests.

Rathmullan House

Rathmullan, Co. Donegal
Tel: +353 74-9158188 Fax: +353 74-9158200 Email: Website: WWW.RATHMULLANHOUSE.COM

With its stunning location, right beside the sea, you can stroll through the gardens of this lovely old house down to a mile long sandy beach.

Inside has a comfortable and informal country house style with rooms to suit everyone, from romantic garden rooms with freestanding bath tubs to large garret rooms for whole families.

The beach provides endless entertainment-walk it, jog it, comb it, canter it, occasionally even lie on it when the weather is good! There is also an indoor heated pool at the hotel. Nearby, there are lots of excellent golf links, including Portsalon, Rosapenna and Ballyliffin, providing golf at great value. (Green fees from €30). Charter a boat and go fishing or dolphin spotting, surf the waves, visit Glenveagh Castle and Gardens or drive the Wild Atlantic Way and take in the views.

The award winning Cook & Gardener restaurant relies, as the name suggests on locally sourced produce and the knowhow of dedicated and experienced chefs. The walled organic garden at Rathmullan House provides many of the ingredients that you will find in your evening meal.

With the introduction of the Tap Room in 2014 serving stone baked pizza and craft beer, there is a dining option for the most casual or special of occasions.

Discover Donegal-it's not as far as you think! (3 hours from Dublin Airport on the M1 and N2)
