Hidden among the ancient trees of Belleek Woods, Belleek Castle is a place that reveals itself slowly. A winding drive through woodland leads to a Jacobean manor where time feels unhurried and the welcome deeply personal. This is not a hotel in the conventional sense, but a lived in house, shaped by generations, stories, and a profound sense of care.

Rescued from near ruin in the 1960s by Marshall and Joyce Doran, Belleek Castle has been lovingly restored and safeguarded by the same family ever since. Their legacy is felt in every corner, from the hand carved stonework to the way guests are welcomed as if arriving at a private home. Today, the castle remains proudly family run, balancing history with warmth, character, and quiet confidence.

The interiors are rich with atmosphere. Fires glow in the evenings, antiques sit comfortably beside modern comforts, and each bedroom has its own personality. Thick stone walls and mullioned windows look out over woodland paths where deer roam and morning mist lingers among the trees.

Dining at Belleek Castle is an experience in its own right. The Library Restaurant is renowned for its sense of theatre and tradition, where classic techniques meet a bold, fire led approach to cooking. Signature dishes, including steak cooked on an open flame and presented on a sword, reflect the castle’s flair for drama without ever losing respect for quality ingredients and honest craftsmanship.

Beyond the castle walls, Belleek Woods offers guests space and stillness. One of Europe’s largest urban woodlands, it invites long walks, quiet moments, and a deep connection to the landscape of the west of Ireland. It is this rare combination of seclusion and accessibility that makes Belleek feel both hidden and wonderfully grounded.

Belleek Castle is also a sought after setting for intimate weddings. With exclusive use of the castle and grounds, each celebration unfolds at its own pace. Candlelit ceremonies, woodland photographs, and long tables filled with food, conversation, and laughter create weddings that feel personal, meaningful, and entirely unforced. No two are the same, and that is exactly the point.

Staying at Belleek Castle is about more than accommodation. It is about stepping into a place with a past, being cared for in the present, and leaving with the sense that you have been part of something quietly special
