June 2010: The Irish Restaurant Awards took place in the Burlington Hotel on June 9th. The main award of the evening went to Blue Book member Chapter One which won the overall prize as Best Restaurant 2010.
Chapter One Restaurant opened in February 1992 with co-proprietors Ross Lewis and Martin Corbett. Chapter One also won best Restaurant in 2009 with Ross Lewis winning best Chef in Dublin.
Other Blue Book winners on the evening included The Ice House is Ballina which won Best Restaurant Design 2010.
The awards are run by The Restaurants Association of Ireland and are sponsored by Santa Rita/Sunday Independent LIFE Magazine.
21 Categories were covered this year which recognize achievement and excellence in the Restaurant and Hospitality Industry throughout the Island of Ireland.
The awards celebrate all aspects of the Industry from Chefs and Restaurants to Food Producers and Cookery Schools.
Nominations for the awards are made by readers of the Sunday Independent LIFE Magazine and members of the Restaurants Association of Ireland.
