Gregans Castle sweeps the top awards at Food & Wine Awards 2011

August 2011: Ireland’s Blue Book, member Gregans Castle has won the “Restaurant of the Year 2011” and Gregan’s Chef Mickael Viljanen has won “Chef of the Year 2011” at the Food & Wine Awards 2011.

The awards in their 11th year were presented on August 21st at a ceremony in the Convention Centre, Dublin and were decided upon by a panel of food writers and critics as well as readers of Food & Wine magazine.

Other Blue Book winners on the day were, Michelin Starred, Chapter One winning the “Dublin Best Restaurant 2011” award and Chapter One, Chef Ross Lewis winning “Dublin Best Chef 2011”. Chapter One also picked up the award for “ Best Service 2011”. Ireland’s Blue Book was delighted to see former director Hilary Finlay recognised with a “Hall of Fame” award at the ceremony.

L’Ecrivain Sommelier, Martina Delaney won the “Best Sommelier Award” 2012, making it a Vintage year for Blue Book Houses & Restaurants at the Food & Wine Awards.
