November 2010: Ireland’s Blue Book, one of the Irish tourist industry’s most prestigious marketing associations, announced the retirement of Hilary Finlay, Director of the Association. Hilary Finlay also served as President of the prestigious Historic Hotels of Europe of which the Blue Book association is the only Irish member.

‘Naturally I will miss the Blue Book having been with them for 25 years, but I am looking forward to pursuing other activities in the future. The Association is fortunate indeed to have an excellent team led by the new Marketing Manager, Michelle Maguire, who joined the Blue Book two years ago with 15 years marketing experience behind her.’

Finlay also added ‘The Association is not only holding its own through this economic downturn but in fact has shown an increase in its sales over the last couple of years. The properties the Blue Book represents are more classic in style and as everybody knows a classic product will never go out of fashion.’

John Brennan, President of the Blue Book association, said ‘Hilary Finlay had done an incredible job creating a world-class association here in Ireland. She is known and respected throughout the tourism industry both in Ireland and abroad. She has left the Association in a very strong position and we would like to wish her every success in her future endeavours’.
