Tankardstown House Becomes Newest member of Ireland's Blue Book

10/11/2010

Cork, November 10th, 2009: The launch of the 2010 Edition of Ireland’s Blue Book guide took place on November 10th at a reception in the Crawford Gallery, Cork.

Ireland's Blue Book is a collection of luxury accommodation in Irish country house hotels, manor houses and castles, as well as including Ireland's finest restaurants. At the launch President of Ireland’s Blue Book , John Brennan announced that Tankardstown Estate in Co. Meath has been invited into the collection for 2010.

Tankardstown has garnered awards and accolades since it opened in 2004 and offers the best of a historic manor house with all the luxuries demanded by today's well-travelled guests. Totally unique and very special, Tankardstown is a fine Georgian country estate, restored with taste and flair, where the handsome main house and the luxuriously renovated stable block provide fabulous accommodation. The Estate also includes a stylish restaurant – Brabazon – named after the original builder of the estate in Georgian times, Brabazon Morris.

President of the Blue Book John Brennan said “Tankardstown is a wonderful addition to our Association. Every year there is huge interest for new properties to become part of the Blue Book ‘family’. However as Membership is by invitation only, the strictest criteria apply to the properties who are invited. Tankardstown House is an exquisite Georgian house set on a private estate offering great hospitality and exceptional design & style.”

Tankardstown House is the first Meath property to join Ireland’s Blue Book, which has 40 Member properties in the collection, including five in Northern Ireland. The 2010 Blue Book is available at all regional tourist offices, good bookstores and through the head office of the Blue Book.

Trish Conroy, owner of Tankardstown said “At Tankardstown you can expect discreet, friendly service with a marriage of old-fashioned style, glamour and contemporary comforts – a kind of simple sophistication that fits perfectly with the classic Georgian style of the Estate. I’m delighted to be a part of the Blue Book family, as I feel that what we offer at Tankardstown fits really well with the other great venues and properties around the country. We look forward to having a long and fruitful relationship with the Blue Book!”
