Longueville House is a stunning 303-year-old listed Georgian Country House hidden in the heart of a 400-acre wooded estate, in the Blackwater Valley, the gateway to the beautiful South West of Ireland. Half an hour from Cork City, steeped in history and packed with character, it is owner occupied and run by hosts William and Aisling O’Callaghan.

In the main, Longueville House operates as a small boutique property for individuals retreating to the country for a couple of nights – a home-from-home, classic but informal, where open log fires crackle in vintage hearths and intriguing heirlooms jostle with fresh flowers from the gardens.

More recently Longueville may also be booked as an Exclusive Hire Residence, a luxury B&B rental for short term lets offering optional pre-arranged meal plans. Additional private in-house catering services are available and require booking at time of reservation when menu, guest numbers and other finer details are arranged.

In this mode the house usually accommodates small groups of 16 guests approx., but can sleep a total of 26 guests if more rooms are required for overnight stays. It is a perfect private venue for family gatherings, corporate retreats, themed and special interest groups.

Adjacent to the historic manor house at the heart of the estate, surrounded by parkland, orchard, and vigorous gardens, lies the elegantly maintained ‘Courtyard Mews’. The epitome of stylish country living, this 5-bedroom self-catering property accommodates groups of up to 10 guests. Residents of the courtyard mews may pre book dinner on nights when Longueville is open, subject to availability.

The estate guarantees privacy and utmost discretion for residents. Behind the secure gates of the estate, guests can enjoy private Salmon and Brown Fishing on the River Blackwater, Falconry on the lawn, a range of Cross-Country Hikes, Orchard Tours, Garden Tours, Dawn Chorus Walks and October Mushroom Hunts, Badminton and Volleyball for the more active.

For the gourmand, a field to fork ethos ensures the seasonal food produced within Longueville is lovingly prepared from scratch and cooked to order by your host and personal chef William O’Callaghan. The fact is that for over 50 years the O’Callaghan at Longueville House have been naturally aware and tuned into their immediate environment and their day-to-day impact on it. All vegetables, oriental greens, herbs and much of the summer and autumn fruit comes from the three-acre walled kitchen garden and poly-tunnels on the east side of the house, carefully toiled by gardeners. The restaurant is reserved exclusively for resident guests of the house and dinner served at 7.30pm.
