1) The People’s Park

2) Milk Market
This traditional food market in the old corn market buildings is bustling with activity as traders from all over the region come with their goods.
From organic produce and artisan foods to the flower and craft stalls, there is something for everyone from the food enthusiast to the budding creative. There is sometimes traditional live music as well.
Top Tip: Saturday morning is the best time to fully capture the essence of the market.
3) Hunt Museum
Enthused by a treasure hunt? Visitors are encouraged to open drawers and poke around the collection of original artefacts gathered, over a life time, by John and Gertrude Hunt. Highlights include a Syracusan coin, a Renoir study, a Gauguin painting, a Giacometti drawing and work by Picasso.

4) King John’s Castle
Built between 1200 and 1212, this vast Norman mass is Limerick’s showpiece castle.
Engulf yourself in history from the exhibitions on the castle's archaeology and the development of Georgian Limerick. Step back in time by exploring the busy courtyard to find a blacksmiths forge and scenes from a seventeenth century siege.
Top Tip: The best views of the castle itself are from the riverside walk on the far side of the Shannon.
5) Lime Tree Theatre
The 510-seat state-of-the-art theatre is set on the campus of Mary Immaculate College in Limerick city centre.
The venue hosts a wide range of performances, including theatre, events, culture nights, music, comedy and traditional arts by local and international artists. Its tiered seating design give every seat a perfect view.
Top Tip: The theatre is a short walk from the city centre, but arrive early if driving as parking is at a premium.
