1. Killarney town

Killarney town is a prime location as a base when exploring Kerry. Some of the highlights of the town include Ross Castle and Killarney National Park. For hill walkers, Killarney is a prime location to climb Ireland’s highest mountain, Carrauntoohil. 2. Tralee

3. The Ring of Kerry

This scene stealing route around the Iveragh Peninsula offers spectacular views of the Wild Atlantic Way. The route begins and ends in Killarney and includes stops such as Moll’s Gap, Torc Waterfall and the Gap of Dunloe. The route also offers scenic views of several different beaches and is a must when planning your trip to Kerry.

 

4. Skellig Islands

On the Ring of Kerry, you will enjoy spectacular view of the Skellig Islands, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Skellig Islands lie 12 kilometres off the coast, and the majestic and dramatic Skellig Michael bursts 218 meters above sea level. On the islands, well-preserved ruins of a 6th century monastic settlement can be found.

 

5. Killarney National Park

Killarney National Park covers 25,000 acres of spectacular scenery in every direction. Within the park you will find mountains, lakes, and even waterfalls. The park has something for everyone, from history to nature and can be explored on foot, bike and even on horseback. Killarney National Park is also home to one of the last remaining herds of native red deer. 

 

6. Dingle Town

Dingle offers winding streets with a vibrant atmosphere and is a hub of literary and creative culture. The town also has the Dingle Whiskey Distillery and a variety of restaurants, especially for seafood lovers. A night out in Dingle would not be complete without a trip to a pub with traditional Irish music.
