Simple can be best, even in the finest hotels – like this delicious way with strawberries from the Dunbrody kitchen garden shows.
3 ½ oz / 100g / ½ cup mascarpone cheese
1oz / 30g / 2 scant US tablespoons caster sugar
4fl oz / 100ml / ½ cup double cream, whipped
2floz / 50 ml / ¼ cup Grand Marnier
14oz / 400g strawberries, halved
2 ½ oz / 60g / 4 US tablespoons brown sugar
Mix the mascarpone cheese and sugar together in a bowl until it forms a creamy texture; fold in the whipped cream and Grand Marnier. Divide this mixture between four espresso coffee cups or dessert glasses. Place each cup on a plate and arrange the strawberries around. Sprinkle the brown sugar over the top of the cream and the strawberries. To eat, you dip the strawberries into the cream – yum!
