21/05/2013

July 2011: From hidden-away restaurants to can't-miss museums, Fodor's Choice selections recognize the top sights, properties, and experiences that can be found while travelling the world. These places are the "best of the best," providing remarkable experiences in their price range, destination, or category.

Ireland's Blue Book houses on the Fodor’s Choice Selection for 2011 are Moy House, Enniscoe House, Gregans Castle, Glenlo Abbey, Coopershill House, The Merrion Hotel, Rathsallagh House, Barberstown House, Dunbrody House, Ballymaloe House, Hayfield Manor, Carrig Country House, The Mustard Seed and the Park Hotel Kenmare.

The “Fodor’s Choice” are compiled using the collective expertise of the Fodor's team, which includes travel editors, more than 700 professional writers, and opinionated travellers.

Every year, Fodor’s team experiences, examines and evaluates thousands of hotels, restaurants and attractions in their travels across the globe. While every business included in a Fodor’s guide is deemed worth a traveller’s time, only fifteen percent of those selections are awarded the very highest, Fodor’s Choice designation by Fodor’s editors.

“From hidden-away restaurants to can't-miss museums, Fodor’s Choice selections recognize the top sights, properties, and experiences our editors and updaters have found in their travels,” says Fodor’s publisher Tim Jarrell. “These places are the best of the best, providing a remarkable experience in their price range or category.”

"The Blue Book Assoication is thrilled and delighted that so many Blue Book houses were recogised by Fodor's this year. The Fodor's Guide is recognised as a leader in it's field and to receive a Fodor's Choice is a real accolade" says Michelle Maguire, Marketing Manager, Ireland's Blue Book.
