Blue Book Houses win at the Georgina Campbell Irish Breakfast Awards 2019

February 2019: Ireland’s Blue Book is delighted to announce that 11 members of Ireland's Blue Book received accolades at the Georgina Campbell Irish Breakfast Awards 2019 which took place in Dublin on February 19th 2019.

Now in their third year, the Irish Breakfast Awards celebrate Ireland’s leading hospitality establishments and the people who strive to make the first meal of the day a particularly special experience for visitors and regulars alike. 

According to Georgina Campbell, one of Ireland’s foremost food and hospitality writers, the significance of the humble breakfast cannot be underestimated, and it is as important to Ireland’s reputation in food and tourism as a world-class hotel or a fine dining restaurant. “A great Irish breakfast starts with the raw materials and as part of these awards, we identify exceptional Irish breakfast food producers who help chefs turn a good breakfast into an outstanding one,” said Georgina Campbell.

Park Hotel Kenmare, Co Kerry; Winner in the Five Star Hotel category
Marlfield House, Co. Wexford; Winner in the Four-Star Hotel category
Virginia Park Lodge, Co. Cavan; Winner in the Country House category
Wineport Lodge, Co. Westmeath; Winner in Guesthouse category
Longueville House, Co. Cork; Winner of the Irish Bread Award

Several Blue Book Houses were also Highly Commended, including: 

Bushmills Inn Hotel, Co Antrim; Highly commended in the Four-Star Hotel category
Rathsallagh House, Co Wicklow; Highly commended in the Country House category
Rosleague Manor, Co Galway; Highly commended in the Country House category
Ghan House, Co Louth; Highly commended in the B&B category
King Sitric, Co. Dublin; Highly commended in the Ireland’s Breakfast Menu category
Viewmount House, Co Longford; Highly commended in the Ireland’s Breakfast Menu category
