Michelin Starred L'Ecrivain Restaurant is located in the heart of Georgian Dublin. This modern, contemporary restaurant is run by chef Derry Clarke and his wife, Sallyanne, and has been established since July 1989.
This award-winning restaurant has built itself a reputation for innovative cooking Irish/French style, using the very best of seasonal Irish produce from small indigenous producers. It is also well known for its fish, which is caught all over Ireland on the same day as it is used. Derry Clarke is renowned for his culinary expertise, and together with his team of chefs, Sallyanne and the front of house team, L'Ecrivain is an experience not to be missed.
Derry has two cookbooks: ‘Not Just A Cookbook’ & ‘Keeping it Simple’ which are a must-have for any kitchen.
L’Ecrivains extensive wine list features new and old world wines from New Zealand, Bordeaux, Austria, Loire Valley, Burgundy, Chile and South Africa. A good selection is available by the glass or half-bottle.
l’Ecrivain also has three private dining rooms; The Malt Room is a fine classical dining room situated on the ground floor, which seats 12 people comfortably. The Salon Priveé is a beautifully appointed room with access to the roof terrace and seats 20 people. The Kitchen seats up to 24 people and can be reserved for special live kitchen events
